Mark West

Mark D. West is President and Founder of The Chattanooga Tea Party, one of hundreds of grassroots organizations that sprung up spontaneously across American in 2009 in support of fiscal conservatism, constitutionally limited government, and free markets. In addition to attracting up to 3,000 area citizens at their annual Tax Day Rallies, the CTP played a prominent role in the collection of 15,000 signatures in an attempt to recall the city’s Mayor following the Mayor’s decision to dramatically raise property taxes in the midst of a severe economic recession.

The CTP remains intently involved in a myriad of local, state and federal issues. To further those efforts, Mark recently co-founded the Citizens for Government Accountability and Transparency, a PAC dedicated to promoting and supporting limited government, fiscal conservatism and free markets by pursuing the values and principles embodied within the US and TN Constitutions.

Mark is a partner in a number of business enterprises including healthcare management, motorsport ventures and property investment. Earlier in his career, Mark was the founder of and partner in other health care endeavors that developed and managed eight skilled nursing facilities and eighteen assisted living retirement communities, operating in six states and employing 1500 employees.

Mark graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 1980 with a degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is married to Lori, recently celebrated their 32nd anniversary, and they have two grown sons. Mark and Lori are members of Woodland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN.

His topics focus on the importance of education, information, and engaging the youth to get involved. He has been working to fulfill these goals by working with the Stanford Research Institute for Adolescents concerning civic engagement, volunteering at Skid Row’s homeless shelters in Los Angeles during high school, and going around helping other local teenage groups start their own journeys.

Darcy Kahrhoff

Mom of three that couldn't sit and yell at tv anymore and joined Glenn Beck's "As a Mom" movement in 2009. Quickly formed a small group with other moms in my area, and have been politically active at a local, state, and national level ever since. Have attended two Texas state conventions, and volunteered on numerous local and state wide conservative campaigns. Believes strongly that one person can make a difference, and teach my children that everyday!

Pam Stout

I was born and raised in northern England. We moved to the US in 1954. I attended California schools, including California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo. I raised three wonderful children and now have 10 grandchildren. I owned a delivery service and then worked for the Housing Authority in Monterey County, CA. It was my job to assist Public Housing and Section 8 residents to become self sufficient. I moved to Idaho in 2001 and then married the love of my life in 2007.

I have been concerned about our growing debt for many years and I saw that many of the Federal programs do not help their intended recipients. I realized that the Tea Party movement could help to change the course of our impending collapse.. Since 2009, I have dedicated my life to help return our government to the Constitutional Republic our Founder's established and as part of that I am working to ensure that every American can attain the American Dream.

I was pleased to represent the Tea Party in 2010 when I appeared on The David Letterman Show.

Ken Hoagland helped develop the modern grassroots campaign with powerful citizen advocacy efforts for senior citizens beginning in the early 80's. He later led the national campaign to repeal the Catastrophic Care Act in 1988, won wide ranging lawsuit reforms in Texas in the 90's, helped develop school choice campaigns with Education Secretary Rod Paige, and led the FairTax national campaign that swept Iowa and other early primary states in 2008. He is now chaiman of Restore America's Voice which has featured Mike Huckabee on national TV ads for repeal of ObamaCare and who have delivered more than 2 million petitions demanding repeal. He has appeared on hundreds of talk shows and is the author of "The FairTax Solution" by Penguin Publishers. He has written extensively, appearing in papers and websites across the nation on national finance issues, immigration, tax reform, education reform, ObamaCare, citizen privacy, lawsuit reform and about the unconstitutional absence of "consent of the governed" in public policy decisions.

Andrew Langer

Andrew Langer is the Institute for Liberty’s President, though it remains unclear if he runs it or it runs him. IFL works on a variety of issues—promoting and protecting small business, linking trade and prosperity, tilting against the regulatory state. But at the organization’s core, and Andrew’s, is the desire to promote freedom and individual rights. Andrew has been involved in free-market and limited-government causes for nearly 20 years, has testified before Congress about two dozen times, and was an early leader in the Tea Party movement. In addition to being IFL’s President, he hosts a weekly internet broadcast and frequently guests hosts on Baltimore’s conservative talk station, WBAL and NRANews' Cam and Company.

Becky Gerritson

Becky grew up in the beautiful town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She is married to her best friend, Eric, whom she met in Germany while student teaching at Ramstein Air Force Base.

They have lived all over the world during Eric’s 20 year Air Force career. Eric’s final assignment was at Gunter Air Force Base in Montgomery. He retired in 2005, but they enjoy living in Wetumpka so much, they decided to stay.

They have an amazing daughter, Shelley, whom they homeschooled from preschool thru High School.

Becky has always been patriotic and has always voted conservatively, but she was not involved in politics. Not until 2009 that is, when she and Eric founded the Wetumpka TEA Party. Since the founding, Becky has been the Vice President and President, leading a large network of patriots through such battles as Obama Care, Cap and Trade, two major elections, and several Alabama Constitutional amendments.

In 2011, Governor Bentley appointed her to the Alabama Constitutional Revision Committee. She served in that position until November of last year.

In 2012 Becky traveled around the country as a political correspondent with B!G Voices Media out of Jacksonville, FL. She also serves as the Alabama state coordinator for ParentalRights.org.

Joe Dugan

Joe Dugan –Tea Party organizer and activist since 2009, Joe is currently wearing three hats as Myrtle Beach Tea Party, Chairman of the Board, Tea Party Patriots, SC State Coordinator and South Carolina Tea Party Coalition, Coordinator.

Working over 80 hours per week, as an uncompensated crusader for the preservation of the U.S. Constitution, and the values of our Founding Fathers, he has been active at the local, state and national levels seeking to ensure citizens are educated about the that common sense values that have made this nation a magnet for the world.

To this end, he has also produced two South Carolina Tea Party Coalition conventions.

Joe believes that time has almost run out for rescuing our Republic from insolvency and decay. The greatest nation in history, built on Liberty, Opportunity and Personal Responsibility, is losing it’s foundation and in danger of crumbling unless immediate action is taken.

Laura Van Overschelde

I retired a year ago as a Certified Nurse Anesthetist for 37 years, was a Registered Nurse for 6 years before this.

My father died as a World War II veteran in 2001. Having grown up in San Antonio, Tx around 5 military bases, I was deeply indoctrinated in American Patriotism. And it doesn't dissipate with time.

This is a CIVILI RIGHTS ISSUE as many of all political persuasions agree. If we do not stand up for our individual rights, we will have forsaken the whole philosophy of America.

Marion Bower

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, business woman and now a political activist. When a liberal is a political activist they are patriotic Americans, but we are considered antigovernment. I have a deep-seeded faith in God and have always loved my country. In 2009, at the end of George Bush's 2nd term with his implementation of TARP, I realized that our country was headed in the wrong direction. When we hosted the first rally on July 4th 2009, we found that there were a lot more like minded Americans than just us. American PAGE applied for its 501(c)(4) status in Dec 2009 and waited 2 1/2 years for its tax exempt status. The IRS abused its power but not on the direction of a few low level employees. That came from much higher up.
